Dance Camp Mini Retreat: July 2nd to 5th 2023
EAT SLEEP BREATH - DANCE
Join us for three days in community. We are heading back to nature, and planting seeds in our collective compost. You will get a taste of the standard Dance Camp experience, with expanded visioning space for the co-creation of 2024.
Essentials:
Located just outside of Washougal WA, about an hour east of Vancouver and Portland. You will be provided with three meals a day as well as lodging and daily programming.
Accommodations Dorm beds are available for up to 55 people. The dorms are easily accessible, next to the dining hall and other main buildings. Bring your own sheets for a twin bed, blankets and pillow. The dorms are pretty open spaces, so ear plugs are recommended, and some extra sheets if you want to create some sense of privacy.
Camping space is limited; please tell us if you plan to share a tent with someone. This area is located a short walk from the main buildings, with lovely trees all around. You can drive up to drop your stuff off, but you will not be able to park in the camping area.
Technology Cell Services are not available at camp, which may disrupt mapping applications when leaving camp. That said, we are located off the main river road and pretty easy to find. Washougal will be the last opportunity to get gas and other supplies, so please make sure you are resourced.
Smoke of any kind and strong scents are not permitted indoors or on the dance floor.
There will also likely be a burn ban during the time we are at camp.
Photography of people is prohibited without the clear, freely-given consent of all subjects. No flash photography during evening dances.
COVID Dance Camp is a Mask Optional event and does not require Vaccination, but the spread of COVID is still a community concern. Being able to be mask free and return to a normal sense of safety is a privilege not everyone has.
We request that attendees minimize exposure in the three days before camp, self-monitor and not attend if you feel sick. We also encourage people to take a rapid test the morning of your arrival, while recognizing it’s still possible for people to become infectious at camp.
High quality masks along with good ventilation are the most effective ways to minimize spread, so if you require tent camping for accessibility reasons please let us know. If you exhibit COVID symptoms, you will be asked to mask and isolate. Whether you are experiencing symptoms or preventatively masking, we want to hold compassion and care for those impacted by these ongoing dynamics. Thanks!
